Martina is the Founding Principal of reLoad Sustainable Design Inc., where she leads a team of experts in shaping the future of low-carbon building in Canada and beyond. With more than 19 years of experience, she specializes in energy and carbon modelling, net zero design, and building performance strategy. Known for simplifying complex codes and performance data into clear, actionable insights, Martina helps clients make confident, cost-effective sustainability decisions. Her collaborative, big-picture approach ensures projects meet today’s standards while preparing for tomorrow’s challenges.

Project Manager + Building Performance Analyst P.Eng., CPHC

Ruffy is a Senior Engineer at reLoad, with nearly two decades of experience delivering high-performance buildings across Canada and the UK. A Certified Passive House Designer and Professional Engineer, she combines global expertise with local insight to create buildings that are efficient, resilient, and people focused. Ruffy specializes in carbon reduction, electrification, and integrated mechanical design, with project experience spanning schools, social housing, and cultural facilities. As an instructor with Passive House Canada, she also mentors the next generation of sustainable design leaders.

Hugh Nolan

Building Energy + Carbon Analyst

Hugh is reLoad’s Embodied Carbon Specialist, integrating operational emissions, embodied carbon, and cost analysis into cohesive whole-building strategies. With a background in both architecture and engineering, he works at the intersection of design and analytics to bring clarity to complex decisions—balancing material choices, energy efficiency, and lifecycle carbon performance. Hugh also leads reLoad’s BIM-to-BEM integration, bridging digital design and performance modelling to inform early-stage decisions and support long-term building performance.

Vincent is a Building Energy Analyst who has been a trusted member of the reLoad team since 2018. With a background in mechanical systems design and energy modelling, he brings deep expertise to large-scale residential, institutional, and industrial projects. Vincent is highly skilled in applying the BC Energy Step Code, LEED, and national energy standards to ensure compliance and optimize performance. Known for his clear, solution-oriented approach, he helps clients cut energy use and costs through practical, data-driven strategies that deliver results.

Sam Ellis

Project Coordinator + Climate Resilience Practitioner

Sam is a Climate Resiliency Strategist and Project Coordinator at reLoad. She helps cities, developers, and design teams plan for climate risks with confidence, specializing in hazard risk assessment, adaptation strategies, and sustainable urban development. Sam has supported workshops for the City of Vancouver’s Resilient Buildings Worksheet and is completing a Certificate in Transformative Climate Action at the University of Victoria. She is passionate about making resilience practical and actionable—helping clients integrate climate-smart strategies into projects from the ground up.
