CCoA wins 2024 Canadian Architect Award of Excellence
We are delighted to announce that reLoad's project at The Confederation Centre of the Arts (CCoA) in Charlottetown, PEI, has won the 2024 Canadian Architect Award of Excellence! 🏅
The jury: “Thoughtful, elegant, and inclusive." We have loved working on this project to date. The work is particularly unique, as it involves revitalizing the 1960s brutalist architecture of the CCoA campus and seamlessly integrating new architectural elements into the existing structure.
At reLoad, we’ve been proud to support the design process by advising on energy efficiency and embodied carbon reduction strategies. Not only does this project showcase a beautiful fusion of new and existing architecture, but we’re also working toward achieving Zero Carbon Certification early in 2025!
Plus, personal favorite, the existing concrete waffle slab ceiling - imagine the combination of light and patterns....
Huge congratulations to Abbott Brown Architects for their elegant design. We couldn’t be more excited to see this project set new benchmarks for sustainable AND timeless architecture! 👏
